NEW DELHI: The Delhi University teachers voted Rajib Ray as their new DU Teachers' Association (DUTA) president on Thursday . This is the fourth consecutive victory for the left-backed Democratic Teachers' Front (DTF).
Ray defeated right-wing National Democratic Teachers' Front's candidate Virender S Negi. Ray , a instructor of Kirori Mal College, has been elected for a time period of 2 years with 2,636 votes, while Negi got 2,375 votes.
"Teachers in their own way stated that they are against the policy onslaught of the Union government as they have transcended political affiliation to vote for DTF," Ray stated.
