VARANASI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) claimed to have solved the December 30 educate theft in Ballia district with the arrest of 5 robbers on Saturday. Cash and valuables have also been recovered from them.
“Teams engaged to determine the dacoity in S-11 and S-12 coaches of Durg-Chhapra Sarnath Express on December 30 night have nabbed the chief, Anil Sahani alias Sonu, from Revati police station house. He divulged names and addresses of his accomplices after which GRP groups arrested Sonu Yadav, Ashutosh Tiwari, Deepak Chaurasia and Shivam Chawdhary from different localities of Revati and Fefna police station house in Ballia district,” said SP GRP (Gorakhpur) Pushpanjali.
Apart from country-made revolvers and reside cartridges, GRP recovered cell phones, baggage, ATM, PAN and identity playing cards, money, jewelry and articles looted from passengers. She said that two more robbers involved on this incident have been known and efforts are being made to nab them.
Giving main points of the incident, GRP assets said when the educate used to be passing thru Revati railway station on December 30, some miscreants pulled the chain and boarded it when it stopped. They entered S-11 and S-12 coaches and attacked 5 passengers, Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Santosh Chandra Das, Rohit Kumar and Dipu Kumar of Bihar.
