MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expecting a windfall from the Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights auction, which gets underway right here on Monday with top companies from across the globe participating.
The IPL media rights auction, segregated into two classes -- broadcast and virtual (internet and mobile) rights -- is predicted to yield to the BCCL an estimated incomes of over 20,000 crore throughout the conventional bidding process.
BCCI leader govt officer (CEO) Rahul Johri has mentioned that the earnings era from the impending IPL media rights auction could be "historic", taking into account the massive passion shown by means of more than a few stakeholders.
