KABUL: An Afghan official says an intense gun combat has erupted between Taliban and Islamic State affiliate insurgents in eastern Nangarhar province.
Attahullah Khogyani, provincial governor's spokesman, stated Tuesday that loads of households are displaced from villages in Khogyani and Sherzad districts.
Khogyani stated an operation involving air and floor forces was once begun to do away with both insurgent groups from the realm.
Six civilians have been wounded and there are experiences of dozens of casualties among the insurgents, he stated.
Sherzad, Khogyani and Hasarak districts in Nangarhar are strategic because they hyperlink with neighboring Logar province as well as the capital Kabul.
In April, america army used the Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, or MOAB, against an Islamic State workforce tunnel complicated carved within the mountains in Nangarhar province.
