Dharwad/Hubballi: High drama prevailed outside the District Congress Committee (DCC) place of business near Regal Circle right here on Thursday after BJP employees and leaders tried to wood the place of business. Police took 50 BJP employees into custody. They had been launched later.
Alleging that Congress was once politicizing the Mahadayi factor, the BJP took out a protest rally in the Market area and staged a dharna in entrance of the DCC place of business. Following the protest, additional police force was once deployed near Regal Circle and barricades put. As protesters tried to barge into the place of business, police intercepted them and avoided them from getting into the place of business.
BJP employees mentioned that police had been operating like brokers of Congress and suppressing their dissent. They mentioned leader minister Siddaramaiah and water resources minister M B Patil will have to prevent politicizing the Mahadayi factor and coordinate with Goa and Maharashtra to get to the bottom of the vexed row.
Former MLA Seema Masuti, corporators Shivu Hiremath, Sanjay Kapatkar, Vijayanand Shetty, Balram Kusugal, Arvind Egangoudar, Rakesh Nazare, Srinivas Kotyan and others had been present.
In Hubballi too, rigidity prevailed when Congress employees tried to stop the BJP activists' march. The BJP employees had been seeking to wood the Congress place of business at Siddaroodh Mutt area. Police detained the BJP employees for some time.
Addressing birthday party employees, former MLA Ashok Katwe mentioned that though the BJP succeeded in bringing an assurance letter from Goa the executive minister, the Congress instigated its Goa unit to sentence the transfer. Another former MLA Veerabhadrappa Halaharvi mentioned that the Congress is attempting to defame B S Yeddyurappa by way of misguiding the farmers' fraternity.
BJP leaders Mahesh Tenginakai, corporator Shivu Menasinakai, Dattamurti Kulkarni, Satish Shejawadkar and Prabhu Navalagundamath had been present.
