BHUBANESWAR: Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra advised chief minister Naveen Patnaik to install air conditioned (AC) system in courtrooms to overcome the heat all over summer time. He stated this whilst inaugurating 46th All Odisha Lawyers' Conference right here on Friday.
"A judicial officer recently told me that lawyers in several parts of Odisha don't turn up for hearing on different cases during summer season due to scorching heat. During this season, court proceedings are conducted in the morning time. But people including lawyers return from the court during noon. If we can install air conditioned (AC) system in the courts, we can continue the court proceedings between 10.30 am and 5 pm. It will solve the pending of cases," stated the CJI.
He urged the manager minister to seem into the topic undoubtedly. He additionally appealed the lawyers and judges to stay present all over the listening to procedure. "Lawyers should cooperate in the court work to solve thousands of pending cases. Don't seek for adjournments," he added.

To clear up the top pending cases, Naveen stated, the state government has established more than 170 courts in closing four years. "We have set a target to establish further 50 new courts in the state in the coming financial year. As a step towards easy access to justice, Madhu Babu Aain Sahayata Kendra is being established in each Gram Panchayat of the state to provide legal help to people," stated chief minister whilst addressing lawyers right here.
He additionally stated that his government contributes Rs 3 crore every year to the Advocate's Welfare Fund for welfare measure for the lawyers.

Law minister Pratap Jena stated the state government will conform to CJI's suggestion and set up ACs in different courts.
