GUWAHATI: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), taking a suo motu cognizance of a media studies that 88 girls were pressured to remove all their garments in entrance in their complete college as a punishment in Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday issued a understand to the state leader secretary calling for a detailed record in the topic along with action taken against the in charge lecturers and steps taken for counseling of the victim scholars. The reaction is expected inside of four weeks, the NHRC observation said.
The fee has also requested the union secretary of Human Resource Development to inform whether any tips for cover of the students from such maltreatment or humiliation have been made or circulated to the states, and if so, a copy of the same and status in their implementation be provided to the Commission inside of four weeks.
The girls of all-girl Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Papum Pare district were punished on November 23 allegedly by the 3 lecturers, when they didn't confess for having written vulgar words against the top instructor and any other student on a work of paper.
The fee has seen that the "sordid act of the school teachers, as reported in the media, is indeed inexcusable...Such an inhuman and insensible act cannot be expected from a teacher. Stripping minor girls, in front of the entire school, is unethical and cruel act committed by the teachers who were their lawful custodians and protectors, at that time. The right to dignity of the innocent minor girls has been grossly violated and it will definitely take time for them to overcome the trauma."
The All Sagalee Students' Union (ASSU) has filed an FIR against the 3 lecturers. The Papum Pare district superintendent of police Tumme Amo said that for the reason that incident comes to lady scholars, the case has been referred to Itanagar girls's police station, who will question scholars and their folks about what happened first.
