Halep edges Davis in marathon thriller to reach 4th round

MELBOURNE: World number one Simona Halep saved 3 match points prior to edging an impressed Lauren Davis Four-6, 6-Four, 15-13 in an exhilarating marathon to succeed in the fourth round of the Australian Open on Saturday.

The Romanian fought again from the edge at 11-10 within the epic final set prior to serving out the match on the fourth try after a taxing 3 hours and 44 mins on the centre court docket at Rod Laver Arena.
