ALLLAHABAD: The Allahabad prime court on Friday imposed a effective of Rs 5 lakhs on Subharthi Medical College of Meerut for denying admission to a meritorious pupil in MD course of medicine move as he failed to meet an unlawful demand of Rs. 31.89 lakhs sought as bank ensure via the varsity government.
Hearing a writ petition filed via Dr Mukhtar Singh, a division bench comprising Justice Tarun Agarwala and Justice Ajay Bhanot also directed the fundamental secretary, clinical schooling and training, Lucknow to institute an inquiry into the behavior of the director basic, clinical schooling and training, because the petitioner has categorically alleged that he had made a particular complaint to the director basic in regards to the unlawful demand of the varsity however no action was taken via him.
The petitioner, who was given admission into MD course in medicine move at the basis of benefit, also submitted a bank draft price Rs 29.44 lakhs to the varsity government as prescribed via the fee regulatory committee against tuition fee, safety deposit, hostel expenses and hostel safety.
However, to the petitioner's utter wonder, later an additional demand of the bank ensure was also made via the clinical college government to the level of Rs. 31,89,400 as a pre condition for completion of admission process.
According to him, when he didn't deposit the similar, he was denied admission to the course.
Aggrieved over the step taken via the varsity government, the petitioner approached the prime court.
After listening to counter submissions, the court held that denial of admission to the petitioner on failure to pay the additional bank ensure was violative of relevant executive orders and also the suggestions of the fee regulatory committee.
