Jio Filmfare Awards: Irrfan's note of thanks

The 63rd Jio Filmfare Award hung on Saturday evening at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai, recognised and awarded the most productive works in film from the year 2017. The starry match, which used to be hosted via Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, noticed content-driven movies and human-dramas take home top honours. The evening witnessed actor Irrfan Khan taking home the black girl after successful the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male), for his efficiency in 'Hindi Medium'.

Members of the Hindi film trade came together to rejoice the most productive of Bollywood in the year 2017 at 63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018, hung on January 20 at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai.


The superstar beat off stiff festival from fellow nominees like Varun Dhawan for 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', Shah Rukh Khan for 'Raees', Hrithik Roshan for 'Kaabil', Akshay Kumar for 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', Ayushmann Khurrana for 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan', to stroll away with the coveted trophy. It used to be a double win for staff 'Hindi Medium', as the film took home the Best Film award.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday afternoon, Irrfan posted a heartfelt word to express his gratitude to Filmfare, his staff and lovers for giving the film the adulation it has received. "The journey of #HindiMedium has been a testament to the celebration of a story that is told from the heart, of good content and most of all the want and sincerity to inculcate and encourage change," he stated in his tweet.



Irrfan went on to add, "Thank you to @filmfare and our audience who have been part of my journey and also for giving this movie the adulation it has got! congratulations to the entire team!"




This used to be Irrfan Khan's fourth Filmfare Award win. He had in the past received the celebrated award for his performances in movies like, 'Haasil', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Paan Singh Tomar'.

Bollywood came together to raise a toast to the most productive in the trade at the 63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018 in Mumbai.
