Iffi 2018’s homage section may feature Sridevi films

Panaji: The upcoming version of the International Film Festival of India (Iffi) would possibly see some of Sridevi’s films in the ‘Homage’ section of the competition programme. This was said by means of vice-chairman of the entertainment society of Goa (ESG) Rajendra Talak. He was talking at the sidelines of an announcement referring to Sumitra Bhave’s film competition on Women’s Day.
“During Iffi, we will have Sridevi’s films in the ‘Homage’ section of the competition. Last 12 months too, we had some of her films on the competition,” he said.

Sridevi, who celebrated 50 years in the Indian film trade closing 12 months, inaugurated the Indian Panorama section of the 48th version of Iffi. She had also attended the inaugural of the competition in Goa at the side of her husband Boney Kapoor and elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor.

He made the statement following a query asked by means of newshounds if ESG would have a Sridevi film competition in the wake of her premature loss of life. “In long run, we would possibly do it. But Bollywood producers have to offer their permission first. We have to get the rights of their films.” he said.

ESG is organizing a movie competition on girl director, Sumitra Bhave from March 8 to 11. Bhave is a seven-time national award winner and has also won various state awards. Four of her films might be screened on the competition particularly Doghi, Devrai, Astu and Kaasav. Every day, there might be one screening at 6.30pm at Maquinez Palace. Two films, Astu and Kaasav might be screened on March 9 and 10 at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco, as neatly.

Bhave might be felicitated by means of speaker, Goa assembly, Pramod Sawant, at Maquinez Palace at the opening day of the competition. She might be present for all of the screenings and a Q&A session after each and every screening. This competition is open to all ESG Cinephile members and others. Entry is free for all on a first come-first-serve-basis.
