Belagavi: CCIB police recovered 3kg gold value approximately Rs 95.1 lakh from a Mumbai resident near Gandhi Nagar on Saturday night time.
The accused Mohan Devkar, 30, a resident of Bandra (West), was once allegedly illegally transporting the gold.
Police discovered him shifting in a suspicious approach near Sagar Hotel in Gandhi Nagar at 12.30am. A patrolling team checked Devkar and recovered 3 gold biscuits and Rs 15,000 money from him.
The accused failed to supply related documents for the valuables.
Upon interrogation, Devkar confessed to gaining possession of the gold via unfair manner.
Inspector A S Budigoppa led the operation. A case has been registered in Malmaruti police station.
