GURUGRAM: Traffic police, along with volunteer highway safety officers, carried out a variety of measures within the area across the MCD toll near Sirhaul on Sunday, to streamline site visitors through demarcating entry and exits.
The area has been witnessing a lot of confusion of late. New sign forums have also been placed to make the changes clear to commuters.
“We’ve communicated the changes to NHAI and requested them to modify outdated signboards to mirror the changes,” stated ACP (site visitors) Hira Singh.
From now on, upon getting off the Shankar Chowk flyover, commuters headed against Dwarka, Kapashera, Rajokri and Ambience will have to keep to the intense left lane and take the left turn for Dwarka, Rajokri or Kapashera, or the U-turn beneath the Rajokri flyover to head again against Ambience mall or Ambience island in Gurugram.
The two lanes right of the intense left lane had been allotted for commercial cars exiting the Shankar Chowk flyover to head for the MCD toll. This will reduce confusion, as now, it's expected that commercial cars won’t input the lanes allotted to private cars heading for Delhi, and switch left for the toll later. After exiting the toll, the industrial cars will input the freeway at probably the most two designated entries.
The extreme right lane has been allotted for commuters headed against Delhi. This way, they won’t have to struggle for area with commercial cars, and will head straight for the Rajokri flyover.
The lane to the left of the intense right lane has been allotted to commuters from Udyog Vihar or Cyber City merging from beneath Shankar Chowk flyover. They too will stay beneath the Rajokri flyover and input the freeway after heading 250-300m on the service lane.
Further up on the carriageway, two devoted entry issues can be created after the toll plaza, for commercial and private cars to head against Delhi on the freeway. There won’t be any go out issues just about these entry issues, so commuters who omit these, will have to head 3km straight up after which take the following go out at Mahipalpur.
“This will clear up the issue of bottlenecks that frequently form at the front to the Rajokri flyover,” stated Navdeep Singh, highway safety officer.
“We’ve installed jersey barriers on the stretch along with markings. There can be some confusion within the first few days, however it's going to be solved as soon as other folks get conversant in the new laws,” stated ACP Singh, who carried out trials on the stretch on Sunday, after a long procedure of installing the jersey barriers.
