Child rights panel seeks probe into RTE outfit

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) has written to the federal government, in search of an investigation into the RTE Parents’ Association, an NGO that assists folks in submitting online applications for seats underneath the RTE quota, for alleged leak of pupil knowledge.

KSCPCR chairperson Kripa Alva, in her letter to the commissioner of public instructions on March 21, 2018, cited media reviews that the association used to be about to sign a memorandum of working out with a Delhi-based organisation for promoting knowledge about scholars.


“It’s learnt that the MoU has been cancelled, however the government has no longer carried out any investigation. Does the federal government have any main points how the association gets investment? The association has knowledge of oldsters and scholars from poorer sections of society who are in search of RTE seats in personal unaided schools. Alva asked the federal government to put up a report back to her by means of March 26.


However, RTE Parents’ Association basic secretary B N Yogananda refuted the allegations. “We are a voluntary organisation. We’re open to any investigation, together with the CBI. We don't have any pupil knowledge with us. We’re running to bridge the gap between folks and the federal government to help the previous procure seats underneath RTE,” he mentioned.
