His posters blackened, Anantkumar Hegde takes backdoor entry into event venue

Hubballi: Union minister of state for skill building and entrepreneurship Anantkumar Hegde used to be on Saturday pressured to go into Daivadnya Bhavan in Vidya Nagar from the backdoor as Dalit organizations staged a protest and miscreants blackened posters containing his photos.

The auditorium used to be venue for the programme to distribute skill training certificate to goldsmiths. Dalit Sangharsha Samithi, Samata Sainika Dala, Hubballi-Dharwad Pourakarmika Sanghatane and other organizations staged a dharna in front of the auditorium at 11.30am, condemning Anantkumar’s alleged anti-Dalit and anti-Constitution remarks. Sporting black bands, individuals of those organizations reportedly deliberate to blacken Hegde’s face.


However, police detained the protesters prior to the minister’s arrival and took them to the City Armed Reserve Ground at Gokul Road. In the melee, some miscreants blackened the posters containing the picture of Hegde.


Hegde attended any other programme at BVB Engineering College and to give protection to himself from the wrath of protesters, took a shortcut stroll to achieve the venue. Police accompanied him as in step with the protocol.


Hegde’s remarks are continuously matter of controversy. He had allegedly said that the Centre intends to switch the Constitution. He apologized within the Parliament consultation not too long ago because the opposition condemned his commentary. In the past, he used to be criticized for his controversial statements towards Islam.
