ALLAHABAD: Around 19.63 lakh electorate, 10.79 lakh men and 8.84 lakh ladies and 198 belonging to third gender, would decide the fate of the 22 applicants for the Phulpur parliamentary constituency bypoll, slated to be held on Sunday.
Registered electorate can forged their votes from 7am to 5pm on the 838 polling centers within the constituency.
These polling centers contain 2,155 polling booths in all five meeting segments of the parliamentary constituency — Phulpur, Soraon, Allahabad West, Allahabad North and Phaphamau.
The district administration has assigned election duties to 11,860 executive staff.
Meanwhile, polling parties had been dispatched to polling stations in all five meeting segments from KP College and Bharat Scout college.
Allahabad district Justice of the Peace and district election officer, Suhas LY stated, "Elaborate arrangements have been made for the polling day and a total of 152 sector magistrates, 20 zonal magistrates, and 10 super zonal magistrates have assigned poll duties to ensure that the byelection is conducted in a fair manner."
He also stated that every one polling stations would use VVPAT (Voter-verified paper aduit trial) and 15% EVMs and VVPAT were kept in reserve.
The DM also stated, "Apart from the deployment of sector magistrates and zonal magistrates, we would monitor polling via web casting facility at 30 polling stations. As many as 78 micro-observers and 127 video cameras have also been publish at sensitive and inclined polling stations.”
Suhas added that 30 corporations of central para army forces (CPMF) were deployed in all five meeting segments and further police pickets have also been stationed at 167 vital polling stations.
The district administartion may even supply faiclitieds like the availability of wheelchairs for individuals with disabilities who come to forged their votes. Besides, the district administration has ensured Assure Minimum Facility (AMF) like potable water, power provide at the entire polling booths.
A district respectable, on condition of anonymity, stated, "Voters slips are being distributed amongst electorate through the BLO (Booth Level Officer) for the benefit of the electorate."
