Marriage of Bundelkhand men in troubled waters!

BANDA: There are three villages within the Jhansi district of Bundelkhand in Uttar Pradesh, where men do not get married due to loss of water. 80 per cent kids of those villages are still unmarried. Many have crossed the age of 40. Dozens are old now, but they are not married.
People do come to those villages with marriage proposals, but once they have seen the critical water crisis right here they make a decision to not come back. They say that they are going to no longer smash their daughter's long term by means of marrying her in a village where there's no ingesting water

These villages - Paraichha, Dhimarpura and Ganeshpura - are located in Moth tehsil, approximately 60 km from the Jhansi regional headquarters.

The condition of roads to those villages are also very deficient which makes the placement even worse. Village girls spend nearly their complete day arranging water for their properties. Most of the hand pumps in these villages have dried up. There is a hand pump in Paraichha village which gives some water. People from other villages come right here day by day and queue as much as get water.

Residents of those villages are largely rely on water tankers. A tanker filled with water prices around Rs 1500 to Rs 2000. The wells, the pumps, the ponds and the puddles, all have dried up.

If the tankers do not come due to some reason, then the best choice the villagers are left with is Betwa river. The river flows 4 kilometers away from these villages. Thankfully there may be water within the river nowadays. But the villagers say that it is vitally tough to bring water from 4 kilometers away. The trail of the forest is there. There is a forest within the trail and due to the danger of wild animals, women and girls aren't despatched to the river.

Dozens of men in Parichha village have crossed the age of 40, but aren't but married. Bhagwandas, a villager, says that many of us come with wedding ceremony proposals but after seeing the water crisis, they don't come back. Getting water could be very tough in month of June.

CDO Jhansi, A Dinesh Kumar, says that he has no knowledge on this regard. He says that he'll in finding out the info and if there may be such water crisis then they're going to prepare tankers for water supply and broken hand pumps can be repaired.
