MANGALURU : Mangaluru City North MLA B A Mohiuddin Bava’s discuss with to a temple and accepting prasad from the priest has stirred up a hornet’s nest.
A video clipping of Bava visiting Kordabbu Daivasthana in Hosabettu in his constituency is being circulated extensively on social media. Many accuse him of violating Islamic rules via ‘visiting a temple for political features’.
In reality, Bava had visited the Daivasthana on Friday. After providing prayers to the deity with folded fingers, the MLA approved a young coconut as prasad from the poojari. He later drank the coconut water in entrance of the shrine.
While many wondered the common sense of the MLA visiting the temple after the declaration of elections,a few accused him of forgetting Islamic rules. “Has he forgotten the rules of Islam referring to doing actions for political features? No Muslim needs to do this sort of dirty politics that forgets Allah,” wrote a netizen, whilst sharing the video of Bava. Another commented, “Sri Moidin Poojary”.
In his reaction to the talk, the MLA stated Islam teaches its followers to admire different religions too. “I've been taking part in programmes of all religions, since I believe that God is one. The Quran has taught me to love my faith and in addition to admire different religions. Even our prophet has shown admire to different religions. Now that elections are round the corner, a few leaders of a political party are making my temple discuss with a topic. Their intention is to defeat me in the election at any value. Hence, they're trying to painting me as an anti-Muslim,” Bava stated, including that his admire for different religions is inside the framework of Islam.
