AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh leader minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday stated that the central government used to be yet to release Rs 2952.71 crore to the state for Polavaram Project.
Holding a assessment assembly with the officers of the water sources department and the contractors on Polavaram Project and different irrigation initiatives in the state, the manager minister stated that the federal government had spent Rs 8,294.97 crore of which Rs five,342.26 crore used to be paid by the Centre and balance of Rs 2,952.71 crore is yet to be paid. Before it used to be declared a countrywide challenge, the state government had spent Rs five,135.87 crore on the challenge. This amount too has to be paid to the state by the Centre, he stated and reiterated that the state has been soliciting for the early reimbursement of the funds in vain.
The leader minister reviewed the challenge works via drones and expressed pleasure over the development. He congratulated the officers and the contractors for completing 1 lakh cubic meters of spillway concrete works. He stated it used to be a record performance and wanted the officers and contractors to continue the performance at the same velocity in an effort to meet the time limit of 2019.
As May and June are dry months, and monsoon is predicted to be in the first week of July, the manager minister wanted the officers to make the best use of the 2 months to speed up the works.
The leader minister additionally reviewed the development of spill method, spill channel, earth paintings, power house works, diaphragm wall works, and the radial gates fabrication works, but even so the precise and left canals works.
Rs 1 crore donated
Meanwhile, Bekem Infra Projects Private Limited, who's dealing with the radial gates fabrication works of the Polavaram Project, donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on of completion of silver jubilee of the corporate. Its chairman Bollineni Krishna Mohan and his father Purnachandra Rao passed over the contribution to the manager minister. They stated that they were glad to be a part of the Polavaram challenge, which used to be 100th challenge for the corporate.
