BJP celebrates, Congress protests in Kudla

MANGALURU: While BJP employees celebrated in the city after B S Yeddyurappa was sworn-in as chief minister, Congress held protest close to the Mahatma Gandhi statue close to Town Hall in the city on Thursday.

BJP celebrated victory in entrance of its district committee workplace. Mangaluru City police officers have been in alert mode and protection was given to each party offices when party cadres took to streets. While BJP celebrated swearing in of B S Yedyurappa as new chief minister of Karnataka, Congress protested against governor’s move of inviting BJP to form the government. Congress leaders referred to as the move murder of democracy they usually lamented for his or her party no longer being allowed to form coalition government with JD(S).


In the morning, hundreds of BJP leaders and party employees amassed in entrance of their workplace and celebrated swearing in ceremony by way of bursting crackers and distributing chocolates. However, leaders made certain that they wiped clean garabage created by way of hearth crackers. BJP Dakshina Kannada district marketing campaign committee in-charge Monappa Bhandary and different party leaders took brooms to wash the street, where they'd burst crackers.“ In five years, Congress has offered worst performance and maladministration. Though Congress has been crying foul branding us communal, they have got proved their communal time table previously five years,” Bhandary said.


Meanwhile, in the night time, Congress leaders and party employees staged a protest condemning governor’s move to permit B S Yedyurappa to take oath as chief minister. Addressing the protesters, former MLA J R Lobo said such invitation is a murder of democracy. “BJP is appearing in step with its own whims and fancies by way of neglecting regulations and regulations. When Congress and JD(S) approached with magic numbers, the Governor did not permit it and invited BJP to form the government. It looks as if there's no worth for democracy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is appearing like a dictator. With this development, we ponder whether democracy will continue to exist on this nation or no longer. People need to decide about it,” he added.
