Blindfolded, boy falls 15 ft playing hide & seek

CHENNAI: An 11-year-old boy slipped and fell to his loss of life from the second-floor terrace of a two-storey construction while playing hide and search with friends at Teynampet on Wednesday evening.
P Sanjay, of Kamarajar Salai, used to be blindfolded while others had been hiding when the accident took place.

“We blindfolded Sanjay. He used to be sitting on the parapet of the terrace,” said Preetha, one of the vital friends.

“He used to be looking throughout the hole of the blindfold so we informed him to not cheat and keep his eyes closed,” she said.

Sanjay’s friends, who had been hiding on the terrace, spotted him sitting on the parapet wall. They did not think he would lose steadiness and fall, the police said.

The parapet is most effective 3ft large. “He fell from a peak of about 15 ft,” an investigating officer said.

Hearing screams, neighbours rushed out to search out Sanjay on the street, bleeding profusely. They immediately rushed him to a personal health facility in Teynampet, but docs declared him brought lifeless.

Sanjay’s mother used to be inside of the home along with her moment son while Sanjay went out to play, the officer said. The boy had finished Class V at a personal faculty in Santhome.


Sanjay’s father Prabhakaran is a social activist while his mother Sumathi works at an suggest’s place of job.
