LUDHIANA: An afternoon after the son of a police sub-inspector died because of suspected drug overdose in his automobile near Hissowal village, police said on Sunday that that they had detained many of the youth’s friends and located that most of them were hooked to medicine up to now.
Even as police wondered 23-year-old Jivanjyot Singh’s friends in the course of the day, they rounded up “four-five suspects” too, said Ludhiana Rural senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surjeet Singh. At the time the body of Jivanjyot, son of sub-insepctor Gurmeet Singh, used to be present in his Ford Figo on Mullanpur-Sudhar road on Saturday morning, police had recovered an injection and a white-coloured powdered from his automobile.

Gurmeet Singh is the station area officer (SHO) of Ludhiana’s Division VIII police station. The SSP said they had been investigating into the case from all angles and had were given some leads within the case too. He, on the other hand, refused to expose the leads.

The SSP also refuted the declare of the daddy of deceased that he used to be not an addict. “The deceased were long past to a deaddiction centre in Patiala to get drugs,” the SSP said.
