Commuters suffer due to traffic jam on Delhi-Jalandhar highway

LUDHIANA: The commuters travelling from Delhi to Jalandhar on Sunday afternoon needed to face issues as visitors moved at snail’s pace for some time at the national freeway as the street construction paintings on Basti Jodhewal Chowk is below approach.

Police officials said the visitors moved slowly near the Basti Chowk on Delhi-Jalandhar freeway on account of the street construction activity. They added that the problem lasted for some time after which visitors drift was once resumed.


Surjeet Singh, a commuter, said that he had to reach Phagwara but his go back and forth were given behind schedule through an hour because of the visitors snarl near Basti Chowk. He added that a lengthy queue of cars was once observed from Basti Jodhewal Chowk against Jalandhar byepass on Sunday afternoon.


Another commuter said that on account of the visitors chaos, he needed to take the Rahon Road after which via Nawanshahr he reached Dasua as he was once on an pressing go back and forth to home. He didn’t see many visitors police officers at the choked website and the commuters were left to fend for themselves, he added.


Children and elderly individuals suffered a lot of inconvenience owing to the visitors jam between Samrala Chowk and Basti Jodhewal Chowk until the motion of cars resumed after an hard wait.
