“On Tuesday night, when the complainant (Jadhav) went to a petrol pump, a white automobile used to be following him.

It all at once overtook him and blocked his approach. Six men were given out, of whom two have been armed with weapons while the others had pipes, sticks and bladed weapons.

They began thrashing him, hurling casteist slurs and abusing him for the use of ‘sinh’ in his title.


One accused, identified as Sahdevsinh, stuck him by means of the collar and slapped him.


The complainant managed to escape from the spot and took refuge at Sonarkui police station in Dholka,” says the FIR signed by means of inspector L B Tadvi of Dholka the city.


Jadhav told TOI, “Using ‘sinh’ isn't the prerogative of any community. My brothers and I determined to use ‘sinh’ with our title after which, I began getting abusive calls and threats from members of the Darbar community.”
