MUMBAI: Kick-starting his statewide tour from Vasai on Maharashtra Day, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray requested farmers to not give away their land for the proposed bullet train and Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway.

With land acquisitions for the Rs 1.08 lakh crore train mission beginning in Maharashtra’s Palghar and Gujarat, Thackeray said that even ahead of the mission may take off, wealthy Gujaratis from Gujarat had started buying homes alongside the bullet train route.

He said that force was also being constructed on farmers to give away land for the 380-km-six-lane limited-access highway. He steered land homeowners to retain their property and struggle against land acquisitions.


Despite the celebration having negligible presence within the Vasai-Virar area, Thackeray controlled to draw a good crowd at the Chimaji Appa Ground in Vasai.

Targeting ‘outsiders’, he said that the bullet train was only a approach to deliver Gujarat closer to Mumbai. He said that while the folks of Maharashtra are preventing over reservations and caste, outsiders are taking over the state. Quoting ‘Shivaji’, Thackeray said that the Maratha warrior had united other people from all castes to struggle the Mughals. “Today, we are preventing within the name of caste and that is encouraging outsiders,” said Thackeray, who claimed to have opened his Twitter take care of at the state’s Foundation Day. He said that outsiders have been flocking to Maharashtra and most of them are now opting for the Thane district.





Reading out a listing of names of other people (from Gujarat) buying land in Konkan, Thackeray said that locals had been selling their land at throwaway costs in 2013. They didn't even know that a refinery mission was to come up in Konkan, he said.


Continuing with his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thackeray said that Modi has turn into the prime minister of Gujarat. Taking a dig at Modi’s 100 consistent with cent electrification feat, Thackeray requested if the country was residing at nighttime prior to 2014.
