MANDYA/MYSURU: The Supreme Court directive to Karnataka liberate at least 2 tmcft of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu has come as a huge shock to the folk of the region. In Mysuru, president of the Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers Association Kurubur Shanthakumar warned that if the state executive has the same opinion to liberate Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, farmers will boycott the assembly polls and stand guard on the KRS dam to stop liberate of water. Shanthakumar, who was talking at a farmers’ consciousness marketing campaign forward of the state elections mentioned, “Karnataka is dealing with drought and farmers are in deep misery. There isn't any query of releasing water to the neighbouring state. We demand the Supreme Court to study its order.”
