MUMBAI: Villagers prone to be suffering from the proposed Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) mission protested, on Wednesday, in opposition to a survey for the bullet teach being carried out in a Dahanu village via allegedly preserving locals at nighttime. Villagers beneath various non-political group from Vasai, Palghar, Dahanu and Talasari had gathered at the collector’s workplace in Niyojan Bhavan for a meeting to talk about the environmental issues related to the purchase of land for the bullet teach. The teach will originate from the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and terminate at Sabarmati in Gujarat. It will run thru Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad covering 12 stations.
On Wednesday, MAHSR officers landed in a village in Dahanu to carry out survey for the teach direction. Villagers stated that they were caught unaware. They alleged that no notice in regards to the land acquisition has been given to them.
Sameer Vartak an activist from Vasai who was attending the meeting at the collectors’ workplace stated that while the ones in opposition to the mission were in the meeting, the district officers had proceeded to carry out the survey of a village.
Locals stated that that they had no longer even been intimidated about the meeting on environmental issues slated to be held at 11 am on Wednesday. Over 1000 other folks controlled to collect for the meeting after being knowledgeable via phrase of mouth.
Raising slogans in opposition to the various tasks, villagers stated that they are going to no longer allow land acquisition for bullet teach and the Mumbai-Vadodara freeway. Protestors even objected to land being taken away for the proposed Wadhwan Port in Dahanu.
Addressing a rally at Vasai on Tuesday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray had steered farmers to not sell their land for the bullet teach. On Thursday, round 50,000 farmers from Palghar district and other parts of the state are expected to protest in opposition to the bullet teach via setting up a march in Dahanu beneath the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) banner.
