Noida mountaineer set to summit Kangchenjunga on May 20

NOIDA: Noida-based mountaineer Arjun Vajpai (24) is all set to scale India’s tallest top Kangchenjunga on May 20. Family sources said the summit push would start on May 17, and if all is going in step with the plan, Arjun will achieve the Summit by means of May 20, becoming the youngest non-sherpa climber to summit Kangchenjunga.


Arjun’s expedition began on April 8 from Katmandu. His staff consists of climbers Wilco Van Rooijen, Cass from Netherland, and Alex d'Emilia from Italy. The staff reached Kangchenjunga Base Camp (5400m) after per week lengthy trek. The storm drive jet stream winds had hit Kangchenjunga valley for the reason that first week of May, making any movement up on the mountains unimaginable. The climate later opened up and the staff has made up our minds to go for Summit try.


Only 237 folks have effectively climbed Kangchenjunga since its first ascent. This might be Arjun's 2nd try on Kangchenjunga as during his first try in 2017, the expedition needed to be deserted due to unhealthy climate prerequisites.


In 2010, Arjun Vajpai climbed Mount Everest at the age of 16, becoming the youngest particular person to have ever climbed it at that point in time.
