Odisha govt releases Rs 202 crore for proposed Kalahandi medical college

BHUBANESWAR: The state government has sanctioned and launched Rs 202.39 crore for the proposed medical school and health facility in Kalahandi district.
With infusion of funds, the construction of the medical school will start quickly, well being minister Pratap Jena stated.

The tertiary care heath institution will fulfill long-time aspirations of the folks of the area. The people of the district and within reach regions will now not need to travel to cities for complicated and specialized remedy, thereby saving on out-of-pocket expenditure on well being.

The minister stated the challenge can be undertaken on Turnkey basis beneath supervision of works division. The state budget has allocated Rs 302.39 crore for the MCH and tendering process is set to start quickly. Ancilliary institutions like 300 seat males’s hostel and 150 seat girls’s hostel, 100 senior resident and 60 seat hostel for nurses will also be built along side 86 residential quarters for faculty participants and doctors. Besides, 150 seat nursing hostel, 36 quarters for paramedical group of workers and a 650 seat state-of-the-art auditorium can be built.


The building of the health facility development can be undertaken through Vedanta Limited as in line with agreement with state Government. The price of the challenge is estimated at Rs 100 crore to be borne through the company.


Jena stated the Kalahandi Medical College is targetted to be finished and in a position inside of two years.


The Kalahandi MCH will upload 100 MBBS doctors to the energy in the state once a year.
