Couple petitions DCP as police fail to file FIR in robbery case

TIRUPUR: A couple on Wednesday petitioned deputy commissioner of police (law and order) E S Uma pronouncing that the Tirupur south police were yet to report an FIR on a criticism of robbery that they lodged with them a few month ago.


Okay Karthikeyan of Periyar Colony said he and his spouse were robbed of 15 sovereigns of gold and two mobile phones on May 1. “On our option to house in a automobile from Sultan Pettai close to Palladam on May 1, my spouse and I went to Tirupur flower marketplace to shop for some plant life. When we returned to the auto, we found the items, which were saved within the automobile, were missing,” Karthikeyan said.


“We lodged the criticism with the Tirupur south police they usually showed the incident after seeing CCTV footages of the area. They got main points together with IMEI choice of the stolen mobile phones, however failed to report an FIR,” he said. The deputy commissioner has directed the police to register an FIR and conduct additional investigations.tnn
