RAJKOT: A one and a half-year-old male leopard used to be rescued through forest officers after over an hour of laborious paintings from a farm in outskirt of Vavdi-Adri village, six kms from Verval the city in Gir Somnath district on Friday.
According to forest department, the leopard entered into farm of Bhagvanbhai Ramabhai Solanki on Friday early morning. It used to be spotted through farmer and his family members once they arrived there in the morning. The leopard used to be observed hiding inside a small room, a spot for retaining farm apparatus.
Villager had locked the leopard inside a room.
Fearing an assault, locals locked the leopard within the room. The farmers later informed forest department, who arrived there inside 30 minutes. A beat guard mentioned, “it used to be tricky to open the door because leopard used to be already very scared and in all probability could have attacked."
The forest officials were not ready to aim tranquiliser at leopard from window due to darkness in the room. Finaly, the officials controlled to tranquillise the animal after one and half of hour and it took just about 15 minutes for the animal to go subconscious. The animal used to be installed a cage and taken to Amrapur animal care center for treatment.
