Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Belagavi

Belagavi: Heavy rain lashed the city for over an hour on Friday night time disrupting customary lifestyles. Rainwater inundated several low-lying residential areas whilst many trees and electricity provide poles were uprooted.
Rainwater entered homes and stores in Motilal Chowk, Pangul Galli, Bhendi Bazaar and Bhovi Galli areas.

Water entered many stores in Motilak Chowk, where the city company had just lately finished highway and drainage paintings. Water additionally gushed in to stores near Kapileshwar railway over bridge due to blocked drains.

Residents criticized the city company for no longer clearing drainage nalas, which result in rainwater coming into commercial establishments.


An electricity pole within the premises of the SP place of work uprooted and fell on a tree whilst a compound wall within the premises of AC place of work collapsed due to the rain.


Over eight trees were uprooted in Ashok Nagar by myself. Traffic motion at Tenginkeri Galli used to be disrupted after a tree collapsed.


The rain began at 4pm persisted till five.30pm. Hescom cut electricity provide immediately after the rain began. Many people were noticed casting off water from their stores and houses after the rain stopped.
