Udhagamandalam: In a bid to counterpoint the revel in of holiday makers visiting the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR), Heritage Rail Museum used to be inaugurated on the Ooty Railway Station on Friday.
Besides uncommon outdated pictures of NMR, the museum properties outdated instruments used in the railway such as Wells mild, Petromax, level indicator lamp, gate sign lamp, lamp publish PF and card price ticket tube and pinion wheel used in the NMR section.
Inaugurating the museum, Coimbatore station director P Satheesh Saravanan said, “The museum will be expanded additional with further heritage articles of the railway. There a heritage museum in Mettupalayam Railway Station, which is a huge hit. However, the selection of footfall of holiday makers is more in Ooty and it's supreme to have one such museum here too.”
The articles in the museum have been amassed from more than a few stations in the Salem department.
