PMC discusses proposal on 20 foot-overbridges

PUNE: The town might get 20 foot overbridges as a proposal in regards to the same is being mentioned through the technical committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
“These amenities can be constructed on public personal partnership (PPP) foundation. The places had been finalised. These bridges will help the pedestrians cross congested roads safely,” mentioned the proposal tabled ahead of the committee.


A civic reliable added that the proposal after approval from the technical committee, can be despatched to the standing committee. Once the green signal comes tenders can be issued.


“Commuting becomes a bother for citizens of congested areas. The local electorate and elected participants had been difficult constructions of those amenities,” said a senior reliable of PMC.


The areas which have been finalised for development these amenities come with Pune-Mumbai Highway, Ahmednagar Road, Magarapatta Road, Solapur Road, Kondhwa, Satara Road, Bibvewadi Road, Nehru Road, Baner Road, Aundh and University Road.


The town has 15 foot-over bridges. Many of them had been embroiled in an argument because of lack of use. The electorate groups have raised doubts at the want of making these amenities, because the previous one have now not been used by the electorate.
