MUMBAI: The police have arrested a 28-year-old from Uttar Pradesh for blackmailing a girl, who he claims is his former female friend, for Rs5 lakh.
The police stated the accused, Alimuddin Kamar, threatened the 25-year-old that he would malign her title and would circulate intimate footage taken once they had been in a dating on social media if she didn't pay up.
Police traced Kamar to UP after the woman’s husband lodged a complaint on May 29. “Kamar started harassing the woman ever since she were given married and relocated to Mumbai. He threatened the sufferer and later even despatched footage of an objectionable nature to her mother-in-law and husband,” stated a police officer.
The girl denied she had ever been in a dating with the accused.
