Elderly couple commits suicide, blames son in note to police

DIBRUGARH: Police on Monday found five suicide notes written by a pair who killed themselves at Sivasagar the city on Sunday.

Rajani Khargharia (62), who used to run a mobile theatre company, was found placing by the neck and his wife Ruby (58) was found useless on her bed. Rajani additionally as soon as oḤwned the famous Kalanchupar Hotel situated at Central Market in Sivasagar the city. "The couple had left behind five suicide notes - addressed separately to their younger daughter, landlord, police, a newspaper and a satellite news channel," SP (Sivasagar) Subodh Sonowal stated on Monday. "In the note, the couple mentioned they were facing acute financial problems and their only son had stopped looking after them. They had been unable to buy medicines or pay the rent for quite some time. When they approached their son for help, they wrote, he ridiculed them," the SP added.


Speaking to the media, the couple's daughters stated their father had been compelled to sell off all his valuables to secure a role for his son. After he got the activity, they added, he bring to a halt all ties along with his folks. According to stories, his son and daughter-in-law were absconding because the incident. Apart from the son the couple is survived by 3 married daughters. In the word addressed to police, the couple appealed for strict motion and exemplary punishment towards their son and daughter-in-law.
