PATIALA: Police listed below are but to determine the reason behind the loss of life of a 22-year-old girl - a pupil of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology - who used to be fished out of Bhakhra canal on Monday morning. "Post-mortem of the deceased was conducted, and the reports suggested she had died of drowning. We did not conduct any medical examination of the girl," the cops said.
"We have scrutinized footages from the CCTV cameras of the Institute, which printed that the woman walked out of the college. We are having a look into the decision detail record (CDR) of girl's telephone number as that would assist us in the investigation.
"A roommate of the deceased belongs to Jammu and Kashmir and her telephone may be now not reachable. We are hopeful, the roommate of the deceased may reveal a lot of issues," said DSP Sourav Jindal.
