MUMBAI: A distinct Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act courtroom on Friday convicted an X-ray technician from civic-run Nair health center for molesting a 17-year-old girl who had come to the health center for a check-up in 2014. The technician, Vijay Kurhate, will have to spend three years at the back of bars.
The girl were sick and was suffering from a persistent fever and chilly. As she was susceptible, her aunt accompanied her to the health center. Special public prosecutor Usha Jadhav said both the teenager and her aunt deposed all through the trial.
The minor advised the courtroom that during 2014, she was present process treatment at a suburban health center. As her illness may no longer be diagnosed, she was referred to Nair health center. Accompanied via her maternal aunt, the girl then visited the health center on February 5, 2014, where she was recommended to have an X-ray and other checks. She said they made their technique to the X-ray division where the attendant advised her that handiest she was allowed within.
The minor said after she went throughout the accused made her stand in front of the X-ray machine and molested her. “I felt offended. I slapped him. I came out and narrated the incident to my aunt,” she recalled sooner than the courtroom.
