Coimbatore: A few years down the line, there may well be no hint of cast waste and sludge within the city’s water our bodies, as the civic body will probably be treating the water that flows into it.
“Every unmarried drop of water will probably be treated prior to letting it into the tanks and the water may well be used for any purpose rather than consuming,” said a senior company professional. It is part of the lake recovery and rejuvenation undertaking this is being applied underneath the good city venture.
While the civic body has already issued work orders to begin imposing quick win tasks for rejuvenating the lakes – Periyakulam tank, Selva Chintamani tank and Valankulam tank – at a cost of Rs 87.88 crores, they've submitted a suggestion for complete recovery of the lakes at the price of Rs 357 crore.
The professional said the undertaking used to be offered prior to the nodal company for good city tasks and approval got. He added that they would go with the flow tenders as soon as the prime energy status committee approves the undertaking.
“Under the undertaking, we can be setting up a number of micro Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs),” the professional said. Decentralised herbal waste water remedy method (DEWATS) will probably be used to treat the water.
