ROHTAK: The Rohtak police on Thursday cancelled the FIR registered towards Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak director Dheeraj Sharma following a sexual harassment criticism by a terminated girl school member.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old girl professor who hails from Uttar Pradesh raised questions about how the probe was carried out below the alleged affect of the director who ‘boasted of his political clout’.
However, girl police station house officer inspector Garima said the FIR was cancelled after the police didn't in finding any substance in the sexual harassment criticism.
DSP Ramesh Kumar said each rate were investigated minutely by the police and all allegations were discovered unfaithful.
Earlier, on May 30, the local police had registered a case below Sections 354 (outraging modesty), 354 A (demand sexual favours) of the Indian Penal Code towards Sharma. The institute had rubbished the allegations and had said that the college member who had filed the criticism were terminated and was vengeful against the director.
Crying foul over the advance, the lady professor said, she had in an e mail to inspector normal of police, Rohtak, suggested the police to move check her claims throughout the CCTV pictures at IIM, Rohtak however they did not investigate the evidence and cancelled the FIR.
“I had submitted a number of items of evidence but the police selected to ignore all of those and manipulated the information to fit the interest of the accused,” she alleged.
She said the police had called her twice after registering the criticism on June 16 in entrance of the deputy superintendent of police and ladies station house officer for generating the evidence and information during the probe.
She alleged that as a substitute of conducting the probe in a qualified approach, the police had handled the accused Sharma with kid gloves. She said she stood by her allegations and would continue her battle for justice until the tip.
However, the women’s police station SHO said there was no CCTV pictures of the incident available.
The IIM, Rohtak PRO said tricky selections of terminating products and services are to be taken when want arises and this episode had made the institute more potent.
