TN: Couple gives new life to boy forced to beg

KANYAKUMARI: A childless couple from Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district may just no longer regulate their tears of pleasure when six-year-old Vijay (name changed) known as them ‘appa’ (father) and ‘amma’ (mom). He was once followed through the couple on Wednesday. The district kid coverage officer (DCPO) of Kanyakumari district S Kumuda said that the boy was once rescued when he was once discovered begging on the street in May 2017.

“He was once discovered begging along a blind guy at Vettumani close to Marthandam. Following the loss of life of his father, his mom, who also sought alms for a living took care of the boy and his more youthful brother. His mom affected by a tumour was once hospitalised on the Asaripallam Government Medical College in Nagercoil, the place she died. The whereabouts of his brother is not recognized,” the DCPO told TOI.

Since then the boy was once beneath the custody of some other beggar at Vettumani. He used to go to a nearby school all the way through the day and beg with the person in the evening. Seeing his plight, a shop proprietor knowledgeable the local police and with their help he took the issue to the notice of the district kid coverage unit. The boy was once rescued and taken to a registered house on May 10, 2017. He is a Class II student now.

On the opposite hand, the couple got married about 17 years in the past but did not have children. All their efforts to have a kid turned out to be futile and in 2016 they registered with the Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System (CARINGS). While the person is a government servant, the mum is a homemaker. In March, Vijay was once given counselling on some great benefits of being followed and after obtaining his consent his details have been uploaded to the portal. Among many children, the Coimbatore couple discovered Vijay and evinced hobby in adopting him. Following these traits the couple travelled to Tuticorin the place the boy was once also taken.


The couple got him a brand new get dressed, whilst the guy inmates of the house the place he was once staying for the closing 12 months gave him items such as an eye and chain. The inmates also requested him to name them from time to time and to inform them if he faced any issue in the foster mum or dad’s space. The foster parents too agreed to allow him to speak to his friends over phone.


After an emotional send off the boy activate to Coimbatore with the couple. “At Coimbatore the specialized adoption company will seek advice from the boy in his space as soon as in six months to see the level of understanding between the couple and the boy and if they're comfortable with each different. They will provide make stronger to help them stay in combination as a circle of relatives,” Kumuda said after facilitating the adoption.


Stating that it's the first adoption from the district via CARINGS, the DCPO said this might motivate more couples with out children and children yearning for the love of fogeys to get united. Couples with a blended age until 90 years can undertake a kid up to four years old. Couples aged 91 to 100 years can undertake a five to eight-years-old kid. Couples with a blended age of 101 and 110 years can undertake a 9 to 18 years old kid.
