SINGAPORE: Crude oil shipments to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd's (BPCL) Kochi refinery have been behind schedule due to heavy rains fighting vessels from berthing, two trade assets acquainted with the topic stated on Friday.
Three vessels, including two very huge crude oil carriers (VLCC) and one Suezmax, sporting greater than 2 million barrels of crude oil, were waiting to dump the oil for 5 to 12 days, delivery information on Thomson Reuters Eikon confirmed.
Suezmax Sri Vishnu sporting Saudi crude has been waiting to dump since August 12, in keeping with the knowledge. VLCCs Happiness I and Humanity, with Iranian oil on-board, were floating off Kochi for 6-12 days, the knowledge confirmed.
"It's very bad weather at the moment and the rains are not subsiding...it's not clear when the vessels can discharge," some of the assets stated.
A BPCL spokesman may no longer straight away comment at the topic.
The Kochi refinery which has a capability of greater than 260,000 barrels in keeping with day (bpd) is located at Ambalamugal, near Kochi in Kerala where torrential rains have left over 30,000 folks homeless, destroyed vegetation and disrupted air, rail and highway visitors inside the state for a week.
So far, 324 folks have died from Kerala's worst floods in a century.
