BALLIA: The Centre has no plans to deprive Scheduled Tribe folks, transformed to Hinduism, Islam or Christianity of the reservation advantages, said Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram.
Speaking to journalists right here on Saturday, Oram said, "At a meeting of the BJP ST Morcha held in Delhi a few days back, it was demanded that the people of Scheduled Tribes, who get converted to Hinduism, Islam or Christianity should not get the benefits of reservation."
But, the Centre's stand is obvious on this, he said.
The tribals, who get transformed to various religions, will continue to get the reservation advantages, he added.
