GoAir to link Phuket with 10 Indian cities by 2019-end

NEW DELHI: Wadia Group-owned GoAir will fly to Phuket from 10 Indian towns by the tip of next yr. The low cost provider (LCC), which earlier this month started flying out of the country, has connected Phuket to Delhi and Mumbai with direct flights.

GoAir CEO Jeh Wadia said: “Phuket is our first international direction. The degree of interest from Indian travellers has been very good…. we're making Phuket our Thailand hub. We have already got routes from Mumbai and Delhi to Phuket, and by the tip of next yr we can build up this to 10 towns flying without delay to Phuket.”

GoAir will also start flights to Bangkok. “We will also quickly be flying into Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. Thailand is a big a part of our international expansion, it is a destination popular with Indian travellers and Phuket is at the center of that. Ninety per cent of our fleet is new and within six months this can be 100%. We placed an order for 164 planes and have taken delivery to this point of 41. Our plans for Phuket and the area are large,” Wadia added.
