NEW DELHI: Minister of state for external affairs MJ Akbar on Sunday known as the allegations of sexual misconduct in opposition to him "false and fabricated" and threatened to take appropriate felony motion.
Akbar, in a commentary after returning from abroad, said that accusations with out evidence have change into a viral fever amongst some sections and that his lawyers will glance into the "wild and baseless" allegations in opposition to him. Saying that Priya Ramani started the campaign a year in the past with a magazine article, Akbar said, "She did not, then again, name me as she knew it was an unsuitable story. When asked recently why she had not named me, she spoke back, in a tweet; 'Never named him as a result of he did not 'do' anything."
The junior foreign minister said, "The allegation is a sea of innuendo, hypothesis and abusive diatribe that has been built around one thing that never took place. Some are general, unsubstantiated rumour; whilst others ascertain, on the record, that I didn’t do anything."
In the commentary, he said, "Shutapa Paul states, 'The man never laid a hand on me.' Shuma Raha says, 'I should clarify, then again, that he didn’t in reality ‘do’ anything'. One girl, Anju Bharti, went to the absurd extent of saying I was partying in a swimming pool. I do not know the right way to swim.
"Another accusation was made repeatedly by Ms Ghazala Wahab, in an effort to damage my reputation. She claimed that she had been molested in office, 21 years ago. This is 16 years before I entered public life, and when I was in media. The only office where I worked with Ghazala Wahab was that of The Asian Age. A part of the editorial team then worked out of a small hall. At the time concerned, I had a very tiny cubicle, patched together by plywood and glass. Others had tables and chairs two feet away.
