Rain in Odisha for three days from Sunday: IMD

BHUBANESWAR: The Meteorological Centre here on Saturday forecast heavy rain in coastal Odisha from Sunday night till Tuesday.

Rain is expected in view of the formation of a cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh and neighbourhood, which is prone to take shape of a low force quickly, a special bulletin of the IMD mentioned.

The cyclonic circulation now lies over the southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast with a trough extending from this circulation to the east central Bay of Bengal, it mentioned.

The IMD forecast rain and thundershower in many places in north coastal a part of the state, south coastal region and remoted spaces within the inside a part of the state on Sunday.


"Heavy rainfall in isolated places is likely to occur in the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara on Sunday," it mentioned.


On Monday, heavy rainfall is most probably in remoted spaces within the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.


On Tuesday, heavy rainfall is most probably in remoted places in Bhadrak and Balasore district, the IMD mentioned.


It additionally urged fishermen to not venture into the deep sea of the west central and north Bay of Bengal house on Monday and Tuesday. The fishermen who have long past into the deep sea are urged to return to the coast via Sunday night.
