BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 35 style police stations across the state thru videoconferencing here on Monday. The style police stations integrated the newly-built Airport police station here and 34 other existing stations that have been upgraded with more manpower and infrastructure.
Naveen additionally flagged off 12 new police vans supposed for higher police mobility and patrolling in Bhubaneswar for the following Men's Hockey World Cup. Naveen interacted with folks present in seven style police stations and expressed his happiness over the release of the policing machine. "This will inspire confidence among the public and shall go a long way in making police not only smart but also people friendly," Naveen stated.

Director general of police R P Sharma stated the style police stations will act as a role style for other police stations in the district. Recently, some superintendents of police (SPs) sought more manpower and logistics to improve the police stations into style ones. "We drew the DGP's attention to the skeletal staff position in all police stations. In the backdrop of lack of manpower and infrastructure, how can we make model police stations operational? Mere branding of a police station as a model station will not serve the purpose. It will be a failure if we fail to meet the expectations of people," an SP stated soliciting for anonymity.
