SURAT: Eleven office-bearers of city unit of Congress resigned in protest from their posts against alleged favouritism in some appointments via president Babu Rayka on Saturday. They alleged Rayka had appointed his driver and family members to the coordination committee of the celebration on Friday.
Congress for a few years has been affected by groupism and thanks to Patidar factor it used to be ready to win 36 seats out of 114 in Surat Municipal Corporation in the elections held in 2015.
