2 minors raped in Sundargarh

ROUEKELA: Two minor women of Sundargarh district were allegedly raped after they were waylaid via two youths who promised to take them to an even. The incident, which took place on Thursday evening, came to mild on Saturday after the members of the family of the girls lodged a grievance at Chandiposh police station. The two accused are absconding.

BK Rout, the investigating officer of Chandiposh police station, stated, “A case has been registered and we now have began our investigation. The women were despatched for a clinical exam. The culprits will likely be arrested soon.”

According to the grievance lodged via the members of the family, the girls — a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old — were lured via two local boys who promised to take them to an even close to Lathikata.

But the accused reportedly waylaid the girls to an abandoned house and raped them there. The survivors were released past due at evening, following which they returned to their village and narrated all the incident to their members of the family.

Sources stated a village committee assembly was once held to discuss the matter and a choice was once taken to hotel a police grievance. Subsequently, the members of the family of the girls, accompanied via different villagers, came to Chandiposh police station on Saturday and lodged the grievance.
