PANCHKULA: The nationwide highway 73 has become a killer stretch, claiming over 60 lives in 2018.

Work is directly to make the highway four-lane as it was not protected for using previous.

Under Panchkula jurisdiction, Chandimandir police station reported 48 accidents out of which 36 had been deadly, whilst 24 deadly accidents came about beneath Raipur Rani police station.

These included stretches in Majri Chowk, Nada village and Chandimandir, the street from Bandar Ghati to police traces, sector 27/28 T-Point, Billa T-Point, Surajpur U-turn and the street close to toll plaza of Himalayan Expressway.

The most dangerous blind curves had been discovered at Bandar Ghati, Fun City turn, and slim bridges between Ramgarh and Barwala.

Police officials mentioned lots of the accidents sufferers had been citizens residing across Ghaggar sectors and villagers of Ramgarh, Barwala and Raipur Rani.

In 2015, the then Ambala-Panchkula Commissioner of Police (CP), O P Singh, has visited and recognized various accidental issues on the NH-73 and requested the officials to install more signboards showing pace limit, eye blinkers and reflectors to keep away from such incidents, but to no avail.
